Zeuna Starker (ZS) was a German company in the automotive supplier industry that was incorporated into the American ArvinMeritor group in 2003 .

Founded in Augsburg in 1875 by master blacksmith Wilhelm Zeuner, the company was bought by Friedrich strengker in 1910 and the new company name was Zeuna strengker . The development of exhaust systems for the automotive industry began in 1970, and numerous subsidiaries were founded between 1990 and 1998, for example in Italy, Hungary, South Africa and the USA. Since 1998 there has been a cooperation agreement with ArvinMeritor , which initially took over 49% of the shares in Zeuna Starker. In 2002 Zeuna Starker was then completely taken over and integrated into the car systems / exhaust systems division of ArvinMeritor.

Before its takeover, the company achieved sales of EUR 530 million (2001) with 1,500 employees.

In May 2007 Zeuna Starkker was transferred as a spin-off to the EMCON Technologies company as part of the “Emissions Technologies business group” . EMCON was owned by OEP , a private equity investment company based in New York. Today the former ZS-Werke belong to the Faurecia group after a renewed takeover in 2010 .
