Additional German locations were created through the acquisition of Zeuna Starker GmbH & Co. KG in Augsburg with assembly plants ( C ustomer V alue C enter) in Lilienthal near Bremen (for Mercedes-Benz ) and Leipzig (for Porsche ). The CVCs in Lilienthal and Leipzig manufacture and deliver " just in sequence " to the local OEM .
In the Augsburg plant, exhaust systems (Emissions Technologies), preferably for the passenger car sector (Business Unit: Light Vehicle Systems), were developed, made ready for series production and manufactured. On February 2, 2007, corporate management in Troy announced that the Emissions Technologies business group would be sold to One Equity Partners (OEP). The transaction cost approximately $ 310 million and was completed on May 17, 2007. The name of the new company was EMCON Technologies . Emcon was taken over by Faurecia in 2010, the exhaust business was combined under Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies .

Meritor was founded in 1997 as a spin-off from Rockwell International . After the acquisition of Arvin Industries, Inc. in 2000, the company continued as ArvinMeritor.
In 2003 they tried to take over the competitor Dana , which ultimately failed.
On March 30, 2011, the company changed its name from ArvinMeritor Inc. back to Meritor Inc.
