EMCON Technologies was a leading international company in the United States in the field of emission control technologies . It supplied well-known car and truck manufacturers worldwide. The company, based in Troy achieved sales of around 3.2 billion USD and employed 6,700 people in 18 countries.

Emcon Technologies was founded on May 17, 2007 as a spin-off of the Emissions Technologies division of ArvinMeritor . One of the important things in the company's history was the takeover of Zeuna Starkker in 2002.

Emcon was owned by One Equity Partners , a private equity investment company based in New York.

The short history of Emcon ended with the takeover by the French group Faurecia on February 8, 2010. The result was a market-leading company with annual sales of around EUR 5.2 billion, which operates under the name Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies .
