Zhen (catch)
Empress Zhen (甄 皇后, birth name unknown; † 251 ), formally Empress Huai (懷 皇后, gentle, but early deceased Empress ), was an empress of the Wei Dynasty at the time of the Three Kingdoms . She was the first wife of the third Wei emperor, Cao Fang .
Her grandfather Zhen Yan (甄 儼) was a brother of Cao Rui's mother, Zhen Luo . Cao Fang made her empress in 243. She died in 251 and was buried with imperial honors. The reason is that their posthumous consists name rather from a place two characters is that her husband 254 was deposed and himself received no posthumous name. The customs of the time required that the empress take over a character from her husband.
