Zhu Chenghu

Zhu Chenghu (Chinese: 朱成虎; * 1952 in Dangtu , China ) is a general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and a professor at the National Defense University (NDU) of the People's Liberation Army.

He is the grandchild of Zhu De , a companion of Mao's and long-time commander in chief of the Chinese Red Army. He published various books and articles on military strategy . He is married to a neurologist and has a daughter who is studying economics.

He gained international fame when he stated in an interview in 2005 that the People's Republic of China might carry out a nuclear bomb attack on the USA if the USA should interfere in the conflict between China and Taiwan . A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry retracted Chenghu's statement.
