The Salzmünde brickworks is a listed area in the village of Salzmünde of the unified municipality of Salzatal in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local monument register , the area is listed as a monument area under registration number 094 76799 .

The monument area of ​​the former brickworks includes house numbers 1, 2, 2a, 3 to 13 on the street Ziegelei in Salzmünde. The brick factory was built in 1832 by the Gödewitz entrepreneur Johann Gottfried Boltze . Up to six million brick products were produced in the brickworks each year. The site had its own rail link and the so-called Saalhafen von Salzmünde was built near it. According to Julius Schadeberg, the brickyard is said to have been one of the largest brickworks in Prussia in 1857 ; Erich Dittrich described it as the largest of all. Today the site is no longer used and the buildings are slowly falling into disrepair.
