Ziegelhof Bier is a Swiss beverage brand owned by the former Ziegelhof brewery . The brand has been produced by the Eichhof brewery since 2006 .

history

Karl Wilhelm Gysin bought an old brick factory in Liestal on May 1st, 1850 and converted it into a brewery. When he died in 1859, his wife took over the business. She auctioned the company publicly in 1863 because it was not very successful. The brewer Theophil Meyer Zeller from Itingen auctioned the company. He successfully continued the business. When he died in 1878, his brother Jakob Meyer-Wiggli took over the brewery, which he handed over to his son Jakob Meyer-Schneider in 1921. His son-in-law Hans Gürtler-Meyer managed the company from 1961 to 1999.

In 2006, the operations of the Ziegelhof brewery were taken over by Eichhof Getränke AG and beer production in Liestal was discontinued. While the brewery activities were fully integrated into Eichhof, the former Ziegelhof brewery with its real estate portfolio was converted into a real estate company that today operates as ZIAG Ziegelhof Immobilien AG .
