Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers was a Jamaican reggae band consisting of the siblings Cedella Marley (* 1967, vocals), Sharon Marley (* 1964, vocals), Stephen Marley (* 1972, vocals, guitar, drums) and Ziggy Marley (* 1968 , Vocals, guitar).

The band The Melody Makers , founded in 1979, debuted in the same year with the benefit single Children Playing in the Streets . But it was not until 1985 that the first album Play the Game Right was released. From the second album Hey World (1986) they called themselves Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers .

In 1989, 1990 and 1998 the group won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Recording and Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album , for which they were also nominated in 1986, 1992, 1994 and 1996.
