Z&J Technologies , also IMI Z&J, is based in Düren - Rölsdorf in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Zimmermann & Jansen was founded in 1877 as a metal foundry . In 2010 the company was taken over by the British IMI plc .

The company employs 320 people in Düren-Rölsdorf and 600 people in other plants in the USA, South Africa and China.

A new administration building with an area of 2200 square meters was moved into in May 2016.

Z&J manufactures fittings for the iron and steel industry , the chemical , petrochemical and glass industries , including gate valves based on the FLOCON system for pouring ladles and continuous casting plants .

Another segment of the company is a self-developed filling device for blast furnaces ( NO-BELL TOP ). This development is complemented by a 2D gas temperature measuring system ( t-matriX ) offered by Z&J Technologies , which was specially developed for heavily dusty and aggressive atmospheres such as that of the blast furnace. The Z&J radar probe p-matriX allows radar measurements of the dump height or the fill level in blast furnaces.

In August 2020 it was announced that 145 jobs will be cut in Germany.
