Alain Soral

Alain Soral (born October 2, 1958 in Aix-les-Bains , Savoie , France ; actually Alain Bonnet de Soral ) is a Swiss - French right-wing extremist essayist and Holocaust denier .

Life

After his youth in Annemasse and Paris , studying art at the Beaux Arts and after temporarily teaching at the École supérieure des arts et techniques de la mode , he joined the Communist Party in 1990 . In 1991 he published an autobiographical novel Le jour et la nuit ou la vie d'un vaurien ; eight years later he published an anti-feminist essay Vers la féminisation . He also had several television appearances during the 1990s and a role in Catherine Breillat's film A Perfect Love (1996) .

In 2006 he officially joined the Front National and became a member of the Central Committee after being nominated by Jean-Marie Le Pen . In 2007 he founded a political group Egalité et Réconcilation (Equality and Reconciliation), which promotes “national reconciliation” under the motto Gauche du travail, droite des valeurs (Left of work, rights of values). He resigned from the Front National in 2009 after failing to get a top spot in the 2009 European elections following a dispute with Marine Le Pen . Alain Soral gained notoriety through his collaboration with comedian Dieudonné M'bala M'bala . In 2009 he finally ran on his antisionist list for the European elections and later founded a joint party, Réconciliation nationale , because the Front National had become a "system party".

Alain Soral is the brother of the actress Agnès Soral , who has distanced herself from his political statements.

Soral described Israel as "the most criminal country in the world" and sees the French government "entirely subject to the influence of the Zionist lobby". The French writer and literary critic Pierre Jourde summed up: The entire Soralien'sche worldview, his whole system is based on a single foundation: Israel is the true ruler of the world, the financial power that rules and exempts us is in the hands of the Jews, Auschwitz is the central lie that holds the Jewish conspiracy together. According to Helga Embacher , Soral's ideology “offers identification offers to people from right-wing extremist or nationalist circles as well as from the anti-capitalist or anti-Zionist camp and from Muslim milieus”.

Soral was sentenced by the judiciary several times from 2008 to monetary or suspended sentences for false statements, defamation or anti-Semitic statements. In January 2019, he received a one-year sentence without parole for insulting a prosecutor and making anti-Semitic statements. In 2012 he played a role in Dieudonné's film L'Antisémite , the screening of which at the Cannes Film Festival was canceled. In April 2019, Soral was found guilty of denial of the Holocaust by a Paris criminal court and sentenced to one year in prison. Soral had published a text by his lawyer Damien Viguier on his website, in which the crimes of the Nazis against the Jews are described as " war propaganda ". Soral's attorney Viguier was sentenced to a fine of 5,000 euros in the proceedings. The court went beyond the prosecution's request for a six-month prison sentence, adding to the aggravation of Soral's previous convictions for inciting racial hatred .
