Zipper Interactive was an American computer game developer based in Redmond , Washington state . The company was founded in 1995 by Brian Sorderberg and Jim Bosler, who are still with the company today. Zipper Interactive became known to the general public through its title Socom: US Navy Seals, which was released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 in 2002 .

Since January 2006, Zipper Interactive has been part of SCE Worldwide Studios .

On March 30, 2012, Sony confirmed the rumors that had emerged about the closure of Zipper Interactive. Restructuring measures at Sony Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) were cited as the reason for the closure.
