The Cistercian monastery of La Encarnación (Córdoba) is since 1510 the monastery of Cistercian nuns in Cordoba (Spain) in Spain .
history
In 1503, a canon from Cordoba founded the nunnery La Encarnación ("Incarnation", also: La Anunciación de Nuestra Señora , "Annunciation") and appointed his niece to be the first abbess . When it was founded in 1510, this gave up the office in favor of a nun from the Cistercian convent Las Dueñas . After the closure of Las Dueñas in 1868, the convent accepted the nuns who remained there. The monastery is located on Calle Encarnación . The convent belongs to the Cistercian Congregation of San Bernardo (CCSB) .
