The Zoo d'Amnéville is a private zoo in Hagondange , near Amnéville , in north-eastern France. It was opened on June 28, 1986 and currently houses around 2000 animals in an area of 16 hectares. Over half a million people visit the zoo every year, which makes it second among French zoos in terms of visitor numbers.

The attractions include the predator population, including white tigers , and the birds of prey represented by 60 species. Horse falconry demonstrations take place three times a day in an arena . The feeding of penguins , polar bears , ear seals , hippos and arctic wolves can also be observed. The Gorilla's camp opened in April 2012 and houses eight male gorillas in two bachelor groups.

Only animals born in zoos or animal breeding facilities are acquired. The zoo participates in 54 breeding programs, between 150 and 200 animals are born each year. He was a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) from 1994 to 2016 and has been a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) since 2003 . Depending on the season, between 90 and 170 people work in the zoo.

In 2019, serious allegations against the highly indebted zoo became known. Among other things, black lists of unwelcome employees and visitors are said to have been kept. In addition, animals are said to have been buried on the zoo grounds and feces were disposed of in the nearby forest. The zoo director contradicted the representations. The zoo is also said to have tried to dispose of the carcass of a deceased polar bear in a landfill for household waste.
