Since August 2009 zoom has been published six times a year. The film magazine was aimed at filmmakers and those interested in filmmaking, independent filmmakers , film students, amateurs as well as cameramen, directors and film editors . The booklet contained news from the film and festival scene as well as information and tips on film technology , film accessories and their use. The focus was on practical reports from various film production departments . Zoom also dealt with various forms of film such as short films , feature films , documentaries , corporate films , advertising films , animation and 3D films , but also new forms and formats such as web series . The concept was rounded off by workshops on individual areas of film production.

history

The founding editor-in-chief was the specialist journalist Jürgen Lossau , who headed the magazine from 2009 to 2013. Since the first issue, cameraman Michael Ballhaus has accompanied the magazine as an interview and workshop partner. In June 2012, the first reference book appeared in the zoom edition of films like Ballhaus - Basics of Film Design ( atoll medien publishing house ). Timo Landsiedel has been editor-in-chief of zoom since the 05/2013 issue. The magazine zoom was discontinued with the publication of the 04/2014 issue.

As the former editor-in-chief of the magazine, Timo Landsiedel took over the Facebook presence of the publisher and started a blog called "Films and Makers" on March 1, 2015, on which blog articles were published until December 11, 2015
