Zoophagy

Zoophagy ( old Gr . Ζῷον zoon 'living beings' and φαγεῖν phagein 'eat') describes the eating of living animals by other living beings. In botany , the term is used more restrictedly only for plants that animals devour but do not actively digest .

Synonyms for zoophagy are carnivores , secondary consumers or predators .
