career

Kostić worked from 2001 to 2012 as assistant trainer and junior trainer at Arkadia Traiskirchen . He led several youth teams to win national championship titles. During this time he was also the assistant coach of the Austrian national team. In 2012 he took over as head coach of the Bundesliga team. At the end of November 2013 there was a separation, the reason given by the club's management was "persistent communication problems and a depressed mood".

In the 2014/15 season Kostić was assistant coach and junior coach at the Bundesliga club BC Zepter Vienna , in the 2015/16 season he was promoted to head coach and won the Supercup with the Vienna team in September 2015. In March 2016, Darko Russo was replaced, but initially remained at the club as a junior manager. In the 2016/17 season he was head coach at BK Klosterneuburg (also Bundesliga), in 2017 he returned to Arkadia Traiskirchen and took over the coaching position again. He led Traiskirchen to second place in the regular season and to the Bundesliga semi-finals in the 2017/18 season; he was named Bundesliga coach of the year 2017/18. In December 2019 he was released in Traiskirchen, according to the association, the decision was based on "disciplinary reasons".
