Zoucheng

Zoucheng ( Chinese 邹城市 , Pinyin Zōuchéng Shì ) is a city in the west of the Chinese province of Shandong in the People's Republic of China . It is a county-level city in the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Jining . It has an area of 1619 km² and has 1.12 million inhabitants.
The old state of Zou , the home of the philosopher Mencius , was on their territory. In the past, Zoucheng was a district, the district of Zou ("Zouxian").
