Yanzhou

Yanzhou ( Chinese 兖州市 , Pinyin Yǎnzhōu Shì ) is a city in the west of the Chinese province of Shandong in the People's Republic of China . The former county-level city in the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Jining is now a district of Jining. It has an area of 648 km² and has a population of 600,000.
The Neolithic Wangyin site ( 王 因 遗址 , Wangyin yizhi , English Wangyin site ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-106) since 2006 .
Yanzhou had been the seat of the Vicariate Apostolic of South Shandong since Dec. 22, 1885 .
