Zsuzsa Oláh

Zsuzsa Oláh [ ˈʒuʒɒ ˈolaː ] (born March 29, 1960 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian table tennis player . She was four times European team champion.

National successes

Oláh played for Statisztika Budapest , with whom she was Hungarian team champion 17 times without interruption from 1973 to 1990. Between 1977 and 1988 she won the Hungarian championship 14 times, nine times in singles, twice in doubles and three times in mixed.

In 1979 she was ranked first in Hungary, ahead of Judit Magos .

International success

In 1976, Oláh took part in the European Youth Championships and won bronze there in the individual. With the Hungarian national team she won the European Championship in 1978, 1982 and 1986 , and in 1980 the team took silver. Already in 1977 Oláh had won the team championship of the European juniors in Vichy.

At the five world championships in 1977 , 1979 , 1981 , 1983 and 1985 she did not get into the medal ranks.

From 1979 to 1986 she took part in the Europe TOP-12 ranking every year . Here she achieved her best result in 1985 with rank 2.

End of the career

In 1988, Oláh ended her international career. In 1992 she moved to the German club Berliner TSC (today ttc berlin eastside ). Here she worked as a player-coach. With their help in 1997 they were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . In 2002 she won the European Cup with this club . In 2006 she returned to Budapest.

Private

Oláh has been married since 1982 and has since performed under the name Oláh-Vámossy. She has two children.
