To the three firs (also called Haus zum Stock ) is the oldest house in the Enge and a protected architectural monument in Zurich .

history

The house at today's address Kurfirstenstrasse 22 was first mentioned in 1300. Until the Reformation it belonged to the Steinen Abbey on Lake Lauerz , then to the city of Zurich . In 1944 the house was neglected and should have been torn down because it stood in the way of the planned course of Brunaustrasse. It was bought by the family of the doctor Luisa Hösli and saved from demolition. The renovation was carried out by the Zurich architects Oeschger . The Zurich Homeland Security gave the new owners an award. Luisa Hösli ran her doctor's practice in the house. The house was listed as a historical monument in 1945.

architecture

The house consists of four different parts of the building that have been built together over the centuries. The rear, highest and oldest part is a medieval tower from the 15th century. Its foundation walls are even older, probably from the 13th century. A staircase and a kind of loggia made of wood were later added to the tower . There is also a small coach house .
