Type of sugar is a sales name and serves the food labeling regulation . According to the Sugar Types Ordinance and in implementation of Council Directive 2001/111 / EC on certain types of sugar, the term includes the types of sugar:

  1. Semi-white sugar
  2. Sugar or white sugar
  3. refined sugar, white refined sugar or refined sugar
  4. Liquid sugar = aqueous solution of sucrose with more precisely defined characteristics
  5. Invert liquid sugar
  6. Invert sugar syrup
  7. Glucose syrup
  8. dried glucose syrup
  9. Dextrose (glucose, dextrose) contains water of crystallization
  10. Dextrose (glucose, dextrose) free of water of crystallization
  11. Fructose (fruit sugar)
  12. Lactose / lactose (milk sugar)

These types of sugar enjoy designation protection. The named designations are reserved for products that correspond to the legal definitions.
