The Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB for short) is the central funding institute of the State of Brandenburg . On behalf of the State of Brandenburg, it promotes and finances public and private investment projects in the areas of business, infrastructure, housing and work.

goals and tasks

The bank processes the support programs of the state of Brandenburg in the areas of economy, infrastructure, work and housing construction within the framework of agency agreements. A broad spectrum of tasks is associated with the agency, such as advising and processing customers' applications, developing decision templates for funding committees, approving and disbursing funding, comprehensive documentation and reporting obligations, checking the use of evidence or developing guidelines.

ILB conducts all business that directly and indirectly serves to implement the statutory funding mandate. ILB offers low-interest loans, interest subsidies, exemptions from liability, guarantees and the provision of equity capital (equity capital) from state, federal, EU and own funds.

In the business sector, ILB supports commercial companies and start-ups as well as agricultural and media companies. In the area of ​​infrastructure, it finances infrastructure projects of municipalities, municipal special-purpose associations, municipal companies as well as social, scientific, educational and cultural institutions. In the field of work, it promotes the qualification and further training of the workforce in Brandenburg. In the area of ​​housing construction, the ILB supports municipal, cooperative and private housing projects as well as home ownership.

Refinancing by the European Investment Bank , the Council of Europe Development Bank as well as KfW Bankengruppe and Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank is of central importance .

After 25 years in the Steinstrasse location, the Landesinvestitionsbank moved to a new building on May 2, 2017 at Babelsberger Strasse 21 in Potsdam.

Holdings

The state of Brandenburg and NRW.BANK each hold 50 percent of the shares in ILB . ILB also fulfills its mandate as a promotional bank by investing in companies and establishing subsidiaries. The aim is to improve the equity base of companies in the state of Brandenburg. In addition, the bank structures and finances individual important projects for the state of Brandenburg.

Partnerships

ILB advises and supports investors, entrepreneurs and start-ups. It is closely networked with the chambers and associations in the state of Brandenburg. In some funding areas (e.g. innovation funding), the ILB works with the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB for short) as a one-stop agency for advice and support. The ILB works together with the savings banks (transit business) as well as the cooperative and private banks. In doing so, it pays attention to maintaining strict competitive neutrality. The bank is a partner of federal and European Union funding institutions .
