history

Air Force paratroopers, 1939

The jumpers allowance was already introduced in the paratrooper troops of the air force of the Wehrmacht .

There were also allowances in the form of double meals or other special allocations.

This aspect is often misunderstood, but it certainly caused the high number of voluntary reports (requirement for service with the paratrooper units) to this loss-making force to a degree that should not be underestimated.
