At the Golden Ecu or The good hostel is a French pornographic film from the year 1908 . It is the first pornographic film that not only depicts the sexual act, but also integrates it into a plot.
During a war, a starved musketeer comes to the gate of an inn. The landlord tells him that there is nothing left to eat. But at least a pretty young tavern maid offers him to satisfy his sexual appetite. He becomes completely “full” after another girl comes along and “serves” the musketeer a second time.
A "strange" innkeeper tells stories from his inn. The individual episodes are divided up like a menu. There are paté de mustaches , langue fourrée , sandwich au cocombre and bouchée à la Reine . Thus, the pornographic film discovered the symbolic play of language and eroticism. Bouchée à la Reine , for example, is used to describe fellatio . To a large extent, the film goes beyond the mere imaging of sexual games and can even be viewed as a costume film .
