To the blue grape (Lagundo)
The Zur Blaue Traube inn in Lagundo is a historic inn that has been in use since 1515. The building has been a listed building since 1999.
The inn is located on the former thoroughfare from Merano to the Reschenpass , a trade route that has been heavily frequented since the Middle Ages. In the 1840s, a larger country road with a different route was built in Algund. The landlord at the time moved his business to this new country road, but after 1875 the building was used again as an inn. In 2009 the house was thoroughly renovated by Peter Haller in coordination with the monument office. The exterior was hardly changed, as an oil painting from the 17th century shows.
The building has three floors and the restaurant is on the first floor. On the facade is a sundial by Philipp Reisperger, inscribed 1593.
The inn has had different names over the years: Inn on the Vihschaid, Hanswirt, Hirschenwirt, Traubenwirt, Zur Blaue Traube. The street name also changed frequently: An der Viechschaid, Landstrasse, Mühlweg, Alte Landstrasse.
