Purpose movement and expression movement

People don't move in isolation. In the behavior of every person, expressive movements and purpose movements combine with one another. The separation of the two forms of movement is therefore often only possible with a distinction between the proportions of variance in the overall behavior.

The movement of purpose distinguishes itself from the movement of expression because the latter does not follow a purpose, but is a pure accompaniment of a psychic event. Expressions such as laughing or crying are inappropriate and are shown even when the person is alone and there is no one around who could be influenced by these expressions.
