Jondal was a municipality in the Norwegian Fylke Hordaland (became part of Vestland in 2020 ). It was on the Folgefonn peninsula on the south side of the Hardangerfjord . It bordered the municipalities of Odda and Kvinnherad to the south, Ullensvang to the east and northeast, and Kvam to the west and northwest . As part of the municipal reform in Norway , Jondal and Odda were merged with Ullensvang on January 1, 2020.

1,087 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​247.07 km² (as of January 1, 2019). The municipality number was 1227. The last mayor was Jon Larsgard ( Sp ).

Parts of the Folgefonna Glacier were in the municipality. The Folgefonn summer ski center offers winter sports conditions in summer (from May to October, depending on snow and weather conditions).
