The dwarf cave (also dwarf hole ) is located on the Neuenberg in the Lindlar district of Scheel in the Oberbergisches Land , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The limestone cave is not far from the castle ruins of Neuchâtel and the ruins of Eibach . Today it only consists of a cave entrance on Neuenberg. A hiking trail leads there. It is an approximately two meters high, five meters wide and seven meters long opening in the ground that leads diagonally into the mountain. Remnants of prehistoric vessels were found in the cave. In 1996 the “outdoor facilities” of the dwarf cave were redesigned by the Scheel Citizens' Association.

The name is based on a legend according to which dwarfs used to live in this cave. After a great disappointment with a "human" neighbor, the dwarfs are said to have left the cave and never returned.
