Zwieselchen is a book by Werner Bergengruen for children of kindergarten age. The author wrote the individual stories in this collection for his own children. They were first published in 1931 in five separate books: "Zwieselchen im Warenhaus", "Zwieselchen im Zoo", "Zwieselchen und Turu-Me", "Zwieselchen und der Osterhase" and "Zwieselchen's big journey". In 1933, all the stories in the five parts were published in one volume, which in 1971 saw its 16th edition (a total of 104,000 copies). In the "Zwieselchen" stories, the little listeners or readers learn how a little boy from Berlin experiences and manages his environment.
