Reita Kikuchi and Makoto Sakurai know each other from the sandpit, their parents are good friends. But over time, Reita, who had grown into a handsome youth, became vain and estranged from Makoto. He was swarmed by all the girls anyway. But after breaking up with his last girlfriend, he suddenly offers Makoto a relationship - because it wouldn't get anyone else. Makoto rejects this insolence, even though she has never actually had a relationship. Reita was always like a brother to her and she also treated other boys like pals and so nobody has ever fallen in love with her. She wants to prove to Reita that she doesn't need him and tries in vain to find an older friend. Finally she ends with Goto, who quickly becomes too intrusive for her, so that Makoto then has to be rescued by Reita.
But since she has already stated that she has a boyfriend and does not want to appear as a liar, Makoto now accepts Reita's offer. Both parents are very pleased and organize a date for them at the zoo. Makoto still doesn't really want a relationship with Reita, especially since he is not very sensitive. But she also notices that she feels more and more drawn to him.

The series was published from 2013 to 2017 in Dessert magazine by Kodansha publishing house in Japan. This brought out the chapters in seven edited volumes. Volume 6 sold almost 40,000 copies in the first two weeks after it was released in 2016.
An English translation is being published by Kodansha's branch in the USA. A German version was published by Kazé Germany from October 2018 to October 2019 and comprises all seven volumes. The translation is from Dorothea Überall.
