Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety

The Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety ( English Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety , IFCS) was established in 1994 in Stockholm the result of the implementation of Chapter 19 Agenda 21 of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in June 1992 in Rio de Janeiro founded . The IFCS Secretariat is located at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva .

The forum is intended to develop recommendations for governments as well as for international and intergovernmental organizations on chemical safety . The best known is the so-called Bahia Declaration, which was adopted in 2000 at Forum III and contains a concrete action plan to implement Agenda 21 by 2008.
