Šebettu
The name Šebettu ( Akkadian ) stands for two groups of demons in Babylonia , each consisting of seven demons . The name Šebettu means "The Seven".
The evil seven are the sons of the sky god An (also Anu), but help the plague god Erra . In another tradition they wrap around the moon and thus cause a lunar eclipse . They eat human flesh and drink blood. They are called the bearers of the dead goddess Ereškigal . In Babylonian astrology , the Šebettu are identified with the Pleiades . Her symbol is seven points.
The good Šebettu are sons of Enmešarra and fight the evil demons.
