Aggro Berlin is the fourth solo album by the Berlin rapper Sido . It was released on October 30, 2009 on the Urban label ( Universal ). It rose to number 5 on the German and Austrian charts and number 3 on the Swiss charts.

style

The album is the first from Sido after the dissolution of his old label Aggro Berlin . The title alludes to this. The album is accompanied by a change of image for Sido. Sido has announced that he is no longer wearing the typical street boy image, and he puts it and his mask off in the intro . The only dissertation by name is against Detlef D. Soost , in that he criticizes his style with pop stars and claims that he doesn't care about the band Queensberry . Soost is mentioned by name in both the song Sido , in which he reports about himself, and in the song Der Tanz , in which the attitude of men towards dancing is described - but only dissipated in the song Sido . Kollegah is also dissed in the track 10 Jahre feat. The sect , with Tony D (a former member of Aggro Berlin), and not Sido, calling him a "whore".

In an interview from autumn 2009, Sido said that some of the songs were mixed on a special mixer (SSL) so that the bass would be stronger and warmer.

Songs

In the intro of the album, Sido separates from his trademark, the chrome-plated mask, which, according to Sido, also stood for his old label. He wanted a fresh start without the mask.

The song Sido is Sido's review of the (hip-hop) year 2009. This is how changes in his rapper friends and the peace between Fler and Bushido are described. Sido also announces that he will not be a judge for pop stars again.

Hey you! is a very personal song about Sido's past, in which he announces that he was born in East Berlin . On the album Maske in the song Interview , Sido said he was from West Berlin . The song is the first single from Aggro Berlin and was released on October 16, 2009. The song debuted at number 4. Right after the song The Heaven Can Wait from the album MTV Unplugged Live Aus'm MV is Hey you the previously second-best singles chart newcomers his career. Sido received the Echo in the category Best Video in 2010, and the Comet 2010 in the category Best Song .

In the song Birthday, Sido raps about his birthday, the preparations for it and that his friends have forgotten him. At the end of the song Sido hangs himself, shortly afterwards his friend and rapper colleague B-Tight calls him to come down to the pub, where everyone is waiting for his party. The first few seconds of the song come from 50 Cents song In da Club (The Passage This is your birthday ). In the video these vocals were "translated into German" by Harris .

The skits on this album are not from Peilerman and Flow , as before , but from Sido and Kurt Krömer .

In The Dance feat. KIZ raps Sido with the hip-hop band about their behavior on the dance floor. Sido mentions that it makes him feel like Siggy D. Soost.

The refrain of Wenn das alles ist is sung by J-Luv . The text is about Sido accepting everything that life brings him.

Marie & Jana is the third song by Sido, which is reminiscent of the concept of Sarah and Carmen . However, Sido describes this relationship as happy. What is noticeable here is the reference to marijuana in terms of content, which is made clear by the many lyrical ambiguities, a reggae melody and the title of the song.

I have no regrets featuring G-Hot is a song that is somewhat similar to Sido's earlier songs. Sido raps about the fact that he doesn't regret all the decisions he has made in his life, that he is at peace with himself.

The melody of it remains based on the song Runaround Sue by Dion DiMucci from the year 1961st

10 years featuring the sect is about its tenth anniversary. Fuhrmann, Tony D , B-Tight , Alpa Gun , Bendt, MOK and Sido rap in this song .

The outro actually only lasts five seconds, but after about 10 seconds of emptiness the song senior status starts again . The beat, chorus and sound of the song stayed the same, but the lyrics were changed; So it's a different version of senior status , a hidden track .

Bodyguard is reminiscent of Sido's earlier songs. Sido tells how his bodyguard protects him from annoying fans. This song was released as a bonus track in the iTunes store .
