Bereleu ( Bareleu ) is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the administrative office of Lequidoe ( municipality of Aileu ).

The place Bereleu is located in the northwest of the Sucos. Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Primaria Bereleu .

1280 inhabitants live in Bereleu (2015), of which 661 are men and 619 women. The population density is 49.0 inhabitants / km². There are 205 households in the Suco. More than 95% of the population name Mambai as their mother tongue. A small minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Bereleu had an area of ​​26.68 km². Now it is 15.80 km². The Suco lies in the center of the administrative office of Lequidoe. To the east lies the Suco Faturilau , to the west the Sucos Acubilitoho and Betulau . In the north Bereleu borders on the Remexio administrative office with its Suco Hautoho and in the south on the Maubisse administrative office with its Suco Maulau belonging to the municipality of Ainaro . The north of Bereleu crosses the river Pahikele , who later in the springing in Suco Orlaquru flows. The northern border is the Coioiai , on the south western border flows Manufonibun and the southern boundary follows the Daisoli . All rivers are part of the Northern Laclós system .

There are no major roads to connect to the outside world. For the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , for example, the ballot boxes had to be brought to the polling station in the Sucos headquarters with porters and horses and then picked up again. A small road leads through the north of Bereleu. The villages Lebumetan ( Lebometa ) and Berkate are located on it . To the southwest is the place Bereleu and northeast the village Lebutu ( Leubutu ). There is a helipad in Lebumetan and a second elementary school in Berkate.

The five Aldeias Bereleu , Lebumetan , Lebutu , Riamori and Tataresi are located in the Suco .

history

On August 30, 1976 in Madabate (Lequidoe), the Deputy Minister for Labor and Social Affairs Guido Valadares was killed along with three other men. He was buried in Bereleu the day after next.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Martinho Rodrigues was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Sebastião de Jesus and was in 2016 confirmed.
