1957 World Bobsleigh Championship
The 16th Bobsleigh World Championship took place from February 2 to 10, 1957 in St. Moritz , Switzerland . World champion in two-man were the Italians Eugenio Monti and Renzo Alverà that Viererbobkonkurrenz won the Bob Switzerland I .

To date this is the only medal that Spain has won at a World Bobsleigh Championship . In the same year, Marques Alfonso de Portago had a fatal accident in a Ferrari at the Mille Miglia car race in Italy.
