Franz Schelle

Franz Schelle (born June 17, 1929 in Ohlstadt ; † January 23, 2017 ) was a German bobsleigh driver .

Schelle's greatest success was winning the gold medal in the four-man bobsleigh at the 1962 World Championship. In 1960 and 1962 he was also the German champion in the two-man bobsleigh, starting with Otto Göbl for SV Ohlstadt . He also won this title in the four-man bobsleigh in 1962 and 1963.

On January 30, 1962, the Federal President awarded him the Silver Laurel Leaf.
