Christian Rasp (born September 29, 1989 in Ochsenfurt ) is a German bobsleigh athlete and former athlete .

Career

Christian Rasp grew up in Mainbernheim in Lower Franconia and began his athletic career as a track and field athlete. His greatest successes as a sprinter were the German U23 championship titles in the 100 m and 200 m in 2010 and the nomination for the U23 European Championships in Ostrava in 2011 . His personal best over 100 m is 10.45 s from 2015.

In the same year, Rasp switched to bobsleigh and started as a pusher in Johannes Lochner's four-man bobsleigh . In the 2016/2017 season, Rasp was regularly used in the two-man and four-man bobsleigh in the World Cup and won several World Cup victories. At the 2017 World Championships , he won the gold medal in Johannes Lochner's four-man bobsleigh and gold in the team competition.

In the 2017/2018 season, Rasp was again European champion in the four-man bobsleigh and for the first time overall world cup winner in the four-man in Innsbruck . At the Winter Olympics in 2018 Rasp also went in the four at the start.

Christian Rasp is a police officer. He lives and trains in Berchtesgaden.
