Axel Jang (born December 28, 1968 in Werdau ) is a former German bobsleigh athlete .

Career

In Cortina d'Ampezzo at the 1989 Bobsleigh World Championship , Jang finished sixth in the two-man bobsleigh together with Dietmar Falkenberg . A year later, at the 1990 World Bobsleigh Championship in St. Moritz , he won the silver medal for the GDR in both two-man and four-man bobsleigh. In the same year he became German champion with Harald Czudaj in Altenberg .

At the 1991 World Bobsleigh Championship in Altenberg, he won the bronze medal in the four-man bobsleigh for the first time in an all-German team with Harald Czudaj , Tino Bonk and Alexander Szelig . A year later, the same line -up was the European Bobsleigh Champion at Königssee . Another year later, the four-man bobsleigh started as Germany 2 at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . In the silver win of the Germany 1 bobsleigh, Jang's four-man bobsleigh only finished sixth.
