Bernhard Germeshausen (born August 21, 1951 in Heiligenstadt ) is a former German bobsleigh pilot .

Germeshausen began his athletic career as a track and field athlete . In 1974 he was fourth in the GDR championships in the decathlon . According to the decathlon table valid since 1985, his best performance of 7,534 points corresponds to 7,386 points.

After switching to bobsleigh , he was first GDR champion in 1975 when he pushed Meinhard Nehmer's two-man bobsleigh . At the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck , he won the gold medal in both the two-man and four-man bobsleigh, each controlled by takers. Four years later, he took gold again in Nehmer's four-man bobsleigh in Lake Placid . In the two-man bobsleigh, Germeshausen himself drove with Hans-Jürgen Gerhardt as the pusher for the silver medal behind the Swiss bobsleigh by Erich Schärer but ahead of Meinhard Nehmer and Bogdan Musiol , who won bronze.

He was also world champion in the four-man bobsleigh in 1976, 1977 and 1981 and world champion in the two-man bobsleigh in 1976 and 1981, whereby he was also the bobsleigh pilot in 1981.

Germeshausen is a qualified sports teacher and worked at the sports high school in Erfurt.
