Brotherhood of Man is a British pop group that was particularly successful in the 1970s. The highlight of her career was winning the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest with Save Your Kisses for Me . The song sold over a million times in the UK alone and is still the most successful Eurovision feature there.

history

The original line-up of Brotherhood of Man consisted from 1969 initially of changing studio singers. In 1970 the group had their first hit with United We Stand . The line-up of Sandra Stevens, Nicky Stevens, Lee Sheriden and Martin Lee, known to this day, did not come together until a few years later. Despite having the same surname, Sandra and Nicky are not related to each other. In 1976 Brotherhood of Man won the Eurovision Song Contest with Save Your Kisses for Me . At that time, their style was based on the Swedish pop group ABBA , which won the competition two years earlier. In contrast to many other Eurovision winners, Brotherhood of Man remained successful after their victory. With Angelo (1977) and Figaro (1978) they landed two further number one hits in Great Britain, which were also represented in the international charts, for example in Germany and the Benelux countries. They were last listed in the charts in Great Britain in 1982.

The group is still on stage in the cast of the great successes in the mid-1970s, B. as a guest at the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 or at the mega event 2007 in Eschelbronn.
