Dave Benton (born January 31, 1951 in Aruba , Netherlands Antilles ) is a pop singer living in Estonia .

Dave Benton was born in Aruba under the name Efren Eugene Benita and moved to the United States as a young adult . As a drummer and singer he has worked with The Drifters , Tom Jones , Billy Ocean , José Feliciano and The Platters , among others .
In the 1980s he met his future Estonian wife Maris in the Netherlands . In 1997 Benton moved permanently to Estonia. He then worked successfully as a musician and singer in Northern Europe, especially in the Baltic States . Benton appeared in Germany in the musical City Lights . Among other things, he also released an album in his native Papiamentu .
Eurovision Song Contest
At the beginning of 2001 he won the Estonian preliminary round with the song Everybody together with the Estonian rock singer Tanel Padar and the band 2XL and then the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen .
