Corinne Hermès (born November 16, 1961 ; born Corinne Bondeaux ) is a French singer. In 1983 she became known in German-speaking countries by winning the Eurovision Song Contest .
Career
In 1979 Hermès released her debut single La ville où je vis under her maiden name . The song was composed by Jean-Pierre Millers .
Millers was also responsible for the greatest success of her career. In 1983 she was invited by the Luxembourg TV broadcaster RTL to represent the country at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest in Munich . In the competition she prevailed with the title Si la vie est cadeau (text: Alain Garcia , music: Jean-Pierre Millers) six points ahead of second-placed Ofra Haza and won Luxembourg's fifth and so far last victory. Shortly afterwards she also sang this song in German under the title Love gives and takes .
She was only able to build on this success in her home country and placed two more singles in the charts by 1989.
In 2001 she was again in front of the camera in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest when she presented the result of the French televoting as part of the broadcast from Copenhagen .
In 2006, after a break of 13 years, she released a new CD. It is titled Vraie and contains nothing but original compositions.
