Cedric Güthe

Cedric Güthe (born December 21, 1965 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Güthe won national championship titles both in the GDR and in the Federal Republic. He started cycling in 1980 at TSC Berlin and mainly competed in track races . As a youth driver, Güthe dominated the two-man team races on the winter track in Berlin with his partner Erik Zabel .

In 1985 he finished second in the six-day race for the Young World Grand Prix and won several races on the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle track in Berlin. A year later he won the championship in the team pursuit on the winter track. He made his first assignment abroad in the Ardennes Tour (8th place). In 1987 and 1988 (23rd place) he drove the GDR tour . In 1990 and 1991 he and his team from LV Württemberg became German champions in the team pursuit, and in 1992 he won the silver medal.

Professional

After his career he worked as a physiotherapist in Balingen.
