Lars Teutenberg (born September 2, 1970 in Cologne ) is a German racing cyclist .
Athletic career
Lars Teutenberg was three times German champion on the track and won numerous other medals. In 1988 he became champion in the team pursuit with Torsten Schmidt , Holger Stach and Andreas Beikirch . He repeated this success in 1993 with Guido Fulst , Stefan Steinweg and Weispfenning. In 2002 he was German champion in two-man team driving with Frank Kowatschitsch .
He won several stage races on the road : in 1992 the Tour de Hainaut , in 1998 the International Tour of Thuringia and in 2002 the Cinturón a Mallorca and the Cinturó de l'Empordà . At the German Road Cycling Championships in 2007 he was German runner-up in the individual time trial .
Lars Teutenberg contested 92 six-day races from 1993 to 2009 , of which he won none. His best placement was a fourth place in Stuttgart 2004 with Frank Kowatschitsch and his brother Sven Teutenberg .
In 1996, 1999 and 2002 Lars Teutenberg set world records on human powered vehicles over an hour and 100 kilometers.
After retiring from six-day racing, Lars Teutenberg continued to compete in individual time trials on the road : for example, he competed in the German individual time trial championship in 2012 and, at the age of 41, was third behind Tony Martin and Bert Grabsch ; In 2013 he finished fourth. In 2014 he became NRW state champion in the time trial and in the same year again achieved third place in the German championship in this discipline. In 2014 he was German runner-up in the derny race , behind pacemaker Torsten Rellensmann and third in the 2014 German time trial championships . He was then nominated for the individual time trial of the Road World Championships , in which he finished 48th. In 2017, at the age of 46, he was 15th in the German road time trial championships.
Professional
Lars Teutenberg is full-time at the Scott Sports cycling company and is responsible for looking after the professional teams IAM Cycling and Orica GreenEdge (as of 2014), and in this role he supported Matthias Brändle in his successful attempt to set an hourly world record . In 2016 he was Performance Director at Bora-hansgrohe
family
Lars Teutenberg comes from a cycling family: In addition to his brother Sven, his sister Ina-Yoko was also successful as a cyclist. His daughter Lea Lin became the German junior champion in the team pursuit in 2016.
