Richard Banusch (born July 7, 1998 in Vetschau ) is a German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Richard Banusch attended the Lausitzer Sportschule Cottbus and drove for the RSC Cottbus from 2010 to 2016 . In 2014 he became two-time German youth champion in points race and in team pursuit. In the following year, he won the junior ranking of the Rad-Bundesliga .

In 2015 and 2016, Banusch was again German champion in team pursuit and points race, now in the junior class. In 2017 he was declared the U23 champion in the individual time trial at the German Road Cycling Championships 2017 in Chemnitz . After repeated checks, an evaluation error was found in the time recording. The driving time of Banusch was corrected to 39:14 minutes and his championship title was revoked. Ultimately, he finished eleventh; Patrick Haller became the master .
