Achim Burkart (born June 30, 1992 in Bühl ) is a former German cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2010, Achim Burkart became German junior runner-up in road racing . On the track , he was also runner-up in the team pursuit , together with Fabian Ederle, Kersten Thiele and Sören Seip. In the two-man team race, he finished third with Thiele.

In 2014, Burkart took second place in the elite points race at the German track championships in Cottbus . At the UEC Derny European Championships in Copenhagen he was runner-up behind the pacemaker Peter Bäuerlein .

At the German Championships in Track Cycling 2016 in Cottbus , Achim Burkart and Nico Heßlich became German champions in two-man team driving. In addition, behind pacemaker Christian Ertel, he became the first German derny master. The following year he initially defended his title as German derny master and then became European champion . Burkart and Ertel were the first German Derny European champions since the competition was introduced. In 2018 he won the title at the German Derny Championship for the third time in a row and won the bronze medal at the European Championship.

In 2019, Achim Burkart and pacemaker Ertel became European champion in the derny race for the second time. After becoming the German derny champion for the fourth time in a row in the same year, he announced his retirement from cycling.
