Werner Holthöfer

Werner Holthöfer (born December 12, 1922 in Bielefeld ) is a former German cyclist .

In 1947 Werner Holthöfer was third in the German amateur championship in road racing, in the same year he won around Cologne . The year before, he was the first to cross the finish line, but was disqualified by the race court for an unauthorized wheel change. He finished the 1947 season on the road with a total of eleven wins and three second places. In the annual ranking of amateurs in all German zones, he came fourth with this record. In 1949 he was together with Günther Pankoke German champion in two-man team driving and in the same year third in Rund um Berlin . In 1952 he won the first stage of the Tour of Germany and was ninth in the overall ranking.

At the UCI Road World Championships he was at the start in 1952 (25th place).

Holthöfer started in 22 six-day races , his best placement was a second place in Münster together with Hans Preiskeit in the 1953/1954 season. In 1954 he and Rudi Theissen took second place in the German championship in two-man team driving.
