The 1951/52 season of the ice hockey league was the fourth season of the highest German ice hockey league . The German champion was the Krefelder EV , which was the second Krefeld club in a row to win the championship after Preussen Krefeld had finished the season in first place last year. In the decisive game, KEV beat SC Riessersee . Since both Oberliga participants were able to assert themselves in the relegation, no team had to be relegated from the division this year.

In contrast to the previous year, the preliminary round was only played in two groups, the North group and the South group . The originally planned single round was canceled after only four match days. In the final round, which was carried out immediately, in which the champions were determined, the first three of the preliminary round took part, while the last two had to go into relegation.
