The Ice Age Rims of the Argental with Argenaue is a landscape protection area (LSG number 4.35.040) designated by ordinance of December 16, 1997 by the District Office of Lake Constance in the areas of the Baden-Württemberg municipalities of Kressbronn am Bodensee , Langenargen and Neukirch and the city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Germany .

The approximately 1,621 hectares (ha) large protected landscape Glacial edges of Argentals with Argenaue is one natural area to Lake basin and Westallgäuer hills . It extends at an altitude of around 400 to 575  m above sea level. NN along the Argen , northeast of the Langenargen town center, east of the Tettnang Forest in the Langnau district , in the south of the community of Neukirch and in the west of Kressbronn.

22.87 percent (= 370.75 hectares) of the total area belong to the municipality of Kressbronns, 18.59 percent (= 301.37 hectares) to Langenargen, 8.24 percent (= 133.63 hectares) to Neukirch and 44.29 percent (= 718.10 ha) to Tettnang.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the geological unit of the Argen glacial valley created during the last Ice Age from the delta in the south to the eastern border of the district.
