Forcola is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 796 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy .

geography

The municipality is located about 16 kilometers west of Sondrio on the Adda in Valtellina . The administrative seat of the municipality is located in the district of Sirta . The neighboring communities are Ardenno , Buglio in Monte , Colorina , Fusine , Talamona and Tartano .

Along the northern edge of the municipality, Strada Statale 38 dello Stelvio leads from Piantedo to Bozen .

Attractions

• Parish church of San Giuseppe in the hamlet of Sirta designed by the engineer Clemente Valenti of Talamona, started in 1877 and closed in 1896.
• San Carlo Borromeo Church in the Selvetta district.
• Climbing hall Caurga directly above the core of Sirta is a series of rock walls, which with some paths serve the 5th and 6th grade.
